Theatre Without Walls specialise in creating bespoke events to your specification. We can work to a budget or generate a quote. We can provide seemless integration with your organisation's exisiting portfolio or provide a completely new programme from scratch.
We provide a guide price list for single acts/ events but we always prefer to work to your budget.
Theatre Without Walls have been producing site specific productions and events for clients around the UK and Ireland since 2002.
Site-specific theatre productions are developed in response to and performed in an interesting or historic location or found space-indoors or outdoors. Sometimes we use physical theatre and dance forms to explore a location and sometimes the response is historical, text based and involves archive research. We are currently developing a european heritage funded project at the Grand Opera House in Belfast.
We produce traditional touring theatre productions to be performed in non-traditional venues-such as historic houses, found spaces or outdoors. Our production of 'Don Quixote' is particularly suitable for historical venues for example. We also perform these shows at normal theatre venues but we believe there is an extra magic with found and alternative space productions.
Street theatre comes in two main forms. First there are street theatre productions-often with a narrative and utilising physical theatre techniques. We are currently developing our new street theatre piece for 2012 -details will be announced soon. Previous productions have included 'Pirate Lilly', 'The legend of Tom Long' and several pop-up shows.
The other main form is actor-in-role walkabout. Walkabout acts include actors in costume and in character to tie in with your venue or event. Past events have included historical tours featuring figures from history, scientists, horticultural figures, fairies, movie icons, ghosts & pirates.
